Westinghouse Nuclear Fuel Proven Results Videos

The Westinghouse Electric Company’s division for nuclear power generation is the largest nuclear fuel and fuel rod assembly provider. WEC NF has implemented GSQA to manage quality and material validation across their multi-level supply chain for fuel rod bundle fabrication. The unique and industry-leading project provides real-time access to successively deeper tiers in their product fabrication supply chain with metal treatment, part fabrication, assembly creation testing at each level in support of WEC NF quality-assurance goals and a final customer-delivered report composed of each tier's material/spec/QC-tests for compliance and traceability. GSQA was selected for its capability to model complex supply chains for material validation with e-COA®, its web-based nonconformance management, and supply-chain-member certification and regulatory compliance, all via a single SaaS solution.

An industry unique use-case is the requirement for on-going certification of design drawings, test methods, and other version-specific documents along with test results for each lot of each material at each tier in the supply chain.

The presentation links below are chapters from an overall presentation provided by Ms. Tina Rankin, WEC NF project manager, to the ASQ Energy and Environmental Division at their annual conference in 2011. The video chapters are in sequential order of Ms. Rankin’s presentation, but please feel free to select individual chapters by topic/link.
